International energy logistics provider Peterson has been awarded a long term integrated logistics contract with oil and gas operator Shell. The five year contract, managed out of Aberdeen, is for integrated supply base and logistics operations supporting Shella’s offshore assets across the UK Northern North Sea.
The contract scope includes the provision of quayside services, warehouse management, cargo carrying units, transport, fuel and marine services.
“Peterson has been working with Shell for over 30 years and this new long term contract extends our strong relationship and enables us to deliver sustainable cost saving concepts and systems for Shell around the North Sea, whilst ensuring a focus on safe and efficient operations.”Erwin Kooij, CEO - Offshore Group
This contract builds on Peterson’s existing portfolio of services provided to Shell across the North Sea region. Shell is an original member of the SNS Pool; based in Den Helder, the Netherlands, the SNS Pool is an integrated fourth party logistics concept (4-PL) where nine operators, outsource their combined marine logistics requirements and helicopter requirements to Peterson.
The SNS Pool is designed to maximise efficiency by combining volumes, distance and capacity through centralised and combined marine, air and supply base operations for the Southern North Sea. Peterson also provides supply base and logistics services for Shell in the UK Southern North Sea out of Great Yarmouth under a five year contract awarded in 2015.
