International logistics provider Peterson has announced its site at Edzell has been recognised as an Authorised Customs Warehouse unlocking a range of new client benefits to support their operations.
The Customs Warehouse Accreditation means Peterson now has a public customs warehouse at Edzell. The benefits of this include the ability to suspend duty payments for customer goods coming into UK and the ability to suspend VAT on items which are imported to the UK for onward hire to the oil and gas market. The storage period within the company’s customs warehouse is indefinite, unlike the defined period imposed by HMRC.
The company has also recently been awarded Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) status and certified as carbon neutral under the PAS 2060 accreditation. The AEO status is an internationally recognised quality mark which proves a company’s supply chain is secure and they have robust customs control procedures in place.
With AEO status, Peterson is able to move goods quicker, therefore improving the supply chain for customers. Some of the additional benefits include a faster application process for simplifications and authorisations, reductions and waivers for guarantees required, and consignments receiving priority treatment for customs controls.Learn more about Edzell here.
